UPLANDSCHULE IN WILLINGEN BENEFITS FROM INTELLIGENT ESCAPE ROUTE MARKING.

Pull up – people are flying again in Germany. Ski jumping and biathlon have become crowd pullers, and not just in recent years. The Upland School in Willingen is a cooperative comprehensive school that combines primary, secondary and high schools as well as a grammar school branch. In addition to general school education, it is home to the young talents of Nordic skiing. The school’s 6 buildings and sports halls have been completely equipped with new emergency lighting.

Digitalization is a top priority in Willingen. It is not surprising that safety is also relied upon here by a state-of-the-art emergency lighting solution running on a wireless radio network (868MHz).

To ensure that students and teachers can reach the exits safely and quickly in an emergency, the decision was made to use the RP Group’s Wireless Professional System, which is particularly suitable for renovations due to the elimination of E-30 functional maintenance cabling and reduced installation effort. The more than 200 installed single-battery lights, which are equipped with radio modules, are controlled and monitored completely wirelessly in accordance with standards.

The WLZENT control center, which is located in one place in the building, is used for convenient setup and maintenance. Its surface shows the virtual building plan with the lights, on which the position and current status of the lights can be read. The device, with its specially developed software, allows the setup and testing of all lights and the generation of complete test reports, which can be automatically generated in PDF format and sent by email. Optionally, these can now also be stored in RP’s own LIGHTLINX® cloud.

Especially in times of increased energy costs, electricity can be actively saved by switching the lights from continuous to standby operation outside of operating hours.
